We're are planning to replace our existing router/firewall with the Netgate 2100 . Can we use a 4G/5G cellular dongle ( like Huawei, ... ) on the USB3.0 connector to have a backup in case the standard internet connection fails . Does the switching goes automatically ?
Any one who has experience about this topic ? Thanks !

I use an external LTE modem, which is basically transparent to pfSense/FreeBSD.

You will have to configure pfSense for WAN failover.
