Hi, new to the forum but just got myself a netgate 2100 and want experiment with it. I have a basic setup. One tp link non-manage switch and one unify access point. Looking for a lesson plan of sorts to get me set up and learn new topics

I have the netgate 2100 running right now with one vlan for the standalone access point and it works with the network switch.

      Any guidance is appreciated. Thx

@stephenw10 thx Steve. This is awesome. I’ll have to schedule / review these over time. Just have a bunch of things to do at work at the moment.

I guess my immediate goal would be to setup the vlan on the access point using netgate as a manage switch. I think I have it setup but not entirely sure. I mean it is working( I can get to internet for all my devices) but I had to tweak it from the instruction from netgate 2100 instructions to get it functional. I also want review existing network traffic and then tightened up the firewall.

I don’t know if there is a readers digest version to get in this path. Mainly to help me know the tools and debug, iterate and learn. Thx.

There isn't really anything specific to that.

On the 2100 you would need to add the VLAN interface in pfSense. Then add that VLAN ID as tagged in the switch setup so it's passed through to the AP.

And of course add the VLAN to the AP but that's in the Unifi config.
