      Hello.
I have a pfSense Plus for Amazon AWS virtual appliance from the AWS Marketplace, running pfsense 23.09.1., with FreeBSD 14.0.

I'd like to save config backups externally to an Amazon S3 bucket and was considering the use of restic, which supports FreeBSD (https://restic.readthedocs.io/en/latest/020_installation.html#freebsd).
Restic have a guide for this: https://restic.readthedocs.io/en/latest/080_examples.html#setting-up-restic-with-amazon-s3

Am I allowed/able to install restic on the pfSense virtual appliance?
Does this void any agreements, warranties, etc?

      Feedback is appreciated.
      Thank you.

You might be able to make that work. I'd look at the methods described here first though:
