Upgraded pfSense Plus from 22.05 to 23.01 without any issues. After a reboot it wanted to continue upgrading to 23.05.1 which I noticed was "deprecated version".
Under updates I can manually choose 23.09 which is Previous Stable Version. This does not make sense. I want to go to current stable version, what is that and how to I get there?

Probably because the actual stable version now is 23.09.1. Probably a bit of confusion with the wording there, but I bet once you upgrade to 23.09 that you will then see 23.09.1 offered as the current stable version.

Yup you should be able to upgrade to 23.09 then to 23.09.1.

Though you could also upgrade to 23.05.1 then 23.09.1. It shouldn't matter which way you do that.
