zfskern occasionally causing high CPU load - But I'm not using ZFS
-
When I installed pfSense, I opted not to use ZFS and instead use the original UFS file system. But for some reason
zfskern
is running and occasionally (especially at startup) eating a CPU core or two apparently doing nothing.
Is this a known issue? Is there some way I can disable zfs/zfskern? -
How are you seeing that? In the top output? What exactly is shown?
-
@stephenw10 Yes, I have top open, and zfskern is showing up as the top entry, taking 100% CPU. It goes away after a few seconds, but it shouldn't be running in the first place.
-
You have a screenshot or the output from top showing that?
Does it appear repeatedly? Only at boot?
-
@stephenw10 Unfortunately, no. It only seems to show up at startup fortunately. If I catch it again I'll screenshot it.
