Announcing the Netgate 4200 with pfSense Plus Software

@aaronouthier Store says “PRE-ORDER NOW FOR LATE FEBRUARY 2024 SHIPMENT”
-
I called and spoke to the Sales department, as mentioned in this post
They said they expected to get the units in on February 23rd, and would immediately start testing and shipping them once received. Sales rep then basically pointed out that the world doesn't operate on expectations....
Which is indeed a valid point, hence my previous question.
It was a round-about way of asking if Netgate received the shipment on the schedule they expected.

My order with a pair of 4200 was shipped yesterday...

@LarryFahnoe Thanks for the info, Larry! Out of curiosity, when did you place the order for them? I'm trying to gauge where I might be in the queue.
-
@gweempose I ordered them on Jan 24.

Thanks! That's the same day I placed my order, so hopefully mine should be shipping any day now.

I am curious as to what are the 4 slots behind the screw plate on the front? They appear to be either MicroSD slots, or, more likely, 4x nano-SIM slots. Future upgrade perhaps??
-
Also, whom should I contact to get the faulty "figure-8" cord replaced? It's not the power brick, it's the 2-bade to 2-post plastic cord that is defective. While I'm making due with a black cord for now, it really doesn't match the rest of the decor, and I don't want to lose yet another of these cords. It's mine, and it goes to something specific. I probably sound petty, I just resent being everyone's de facto source of free cords.

Open a ticket with us:

Will this fit the https://shop.netgate.com/collections/mount-kits/products/4100-6100-1u-rack-mount-kit
-
No it's not compatible with the 4100/6100 rack mount kit.
-
@stephenw10 No plans for a 1U option that's more compatible with different models?
-
Not at this time. As far as I know at least.
-
@CreationGuy There are generic/plain 1U rack shelves. (Assuming it’s less than 1U high, didn’t look)
-
@SteveITS
I know that. I was inquiring on just the "official" rack/shelf/mount. -

It's a little taller than that, so you'd need a 2U shelf, or at least 2U worth of space.
-
Is there possibility to add more RAM?
-
No, there are no DIMM slots on the 4200. The memory is all on-board.

I am NOT the poster but I did see this post that claims "perfectly aligned mounting holes" and thought of this thread:
