Hi all, this is my first post. I've been banging my head against the wall for two days trying to factory reset my SG-1100. I was able to enter the web console the other day. There was an update waiting, I think it was 23 or 25 something, I installed it and then it went into a rebooting loop and never came back. So I connected the usb cable and entered the console but it won't log me in with the username and password I used in the web console. I tried a factory reset with the reset button and that is also not working. I can hold the button in for an hour and the lights never go off and never blink. I did it with the button pressed and then power applied. I pressed the button just after plugging in the power. I pressed the button after it was fully booted. I held it in for 3 minutes at one point. Nothing. I'd love to reinstall the software but I don't have a TAC account. So, I'm really at a loss here. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you!

@brokentroy that’s not what the button does on that model:

I suggest opening a (free) ticket and Netgate will help you. Likely they will suggest reinstalling which is almost surely the fastest way to recover.

Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to reboot, or more depending on packages, and device or disk speed.

@SteveITS Ok. Thanks. Good to know. I see TAC lite is free for purchased devices. I didn't read that far earlier. Thanks for your help!

@brokentroy the reinstall procedure looks way more complicated than it is. If you got to the console you’re mostly there.
