dashboard of 2.7.2 shows 23.09.1 available - why?
-
Hi,
dashboard of a fresh install of 2.7.2 with imported config v22.9 shows:
Version 2.7.2-RELEASE (amd64)
built on Wed Dec 6 21:10:00 CET 2023
FreeBSD 14.0-CURRENT
Version 23.09.1 is available.
Version information updated at Thu Mar 21 19:37:25 CET 2024Why does it show that 23.09.1 is available? I have no plus and I don't want it.
label1:
When I go to System->Update it shows 2.7.2 "Up to date."
There I change to "[Upgrade] - 23.09.1 ...] it says "Unable to check for updates" - maybe ok
and then switch back to Current stable 2.7.2 it says "Unable to check for updates" - should say "Up to date."
Go back to the dashboard then everything is ok and it shows "on latest version".
goto label1Something seems to be wrong there... I wonder why the dashboard sometimes shows "23.09.1 is available"? I don't know why I have to switch versions in system->update and why it says "unable to check for updates".
Any ideas?
Cheers,

It's because the new upgrade system is capable of seeing upgrades from all available branches Your device is seen as eligible for Plus and since 23.09.1 > 2.7.2 is shows that.
https://redmine.pfsense.org/issues/15019If you send me your NDI in chat I can remove it if that's what you really want. Or just ignore that.

I sent you two NDIs.
Any good reason why not delete the NDIs if I'm not interested in Plus anymore? -
Only that if you change your mind then Plus upgrades now cost.

They show 23.09.1. Last Plus version on these devices was 23.05. 23.09.1 already costs money. And back to 23.05 (if possible), I see no reason.
So just drop them.
