How to connect Netgate 2100 to MikroTik CRS309-1G-8S+in

Hello everyone, greetings from Canada. Hoping someone can help with the following questions.
- What is the best way to connect a Netgate 2100 to a MikroTik CRS309-1G-8S+in?
- What equipment will I need to make this work?
Network topology.
ISP router --> Netgate 2100 --> MikroTik CRS309-1G-8S+Hope everyone has an excellent rest of the day.

I would just connect it to the 1G RJ-45 port unless for some reason you can't use that. Connect that to any of the LAN ports on the 2100. You just need an Ethernet patch cable of the most basic type.

Thank you for taking the time to respond. Unfortunately, I am not sure I follow what you mean. Is the following what you are proposing?2100 1 GB Lan port --> MikroTik CRS309-1G-8S+ 1 GB LAN port?

Yes, exactly that.

I don't that will work since 2100 has 1 x 1 Gbps combo (RJ45/SFP), which is used to connect the ISP modem to 2100. MikroTik CRS309-1G-8S+ has 1 x 1 Gbps Ethernet port that is for management only. -
You can use any of the LAN side ports for it on the 2100.
The diagram for that MikroTik shows the 1G port is just connected to the switch. Can it not be used as an uplink? Maybe reconfigured to do so?
Otherwise you could use an RJ-45 SFP module in one of the other switch ports. Or potentially a DAC cable to the combo port as long as the switch port can be set to 1G.

I think I understand now. The flow will be as follows:
ISP Router LAN port --> 2100 SFP/LAN port, then one of the following- 2100 LAN port --> MikroTik CRS309-1G-8S+ 1 GB LAN (if possible) or
- 2100 LAN port --> MikroTik CRS309-1G-8S+ SFP (RJ-45) or (least preferred due to heat) or
- 2100 LAN port --> 10Gtek Gigabit Ethernet Media Converter --> MikroTik CRS309-1G-8S+ SFP
I am going to work on option 1 and 3.

Yes any of those should work. Additionally you may be able to to use a DAC cable dircetly between the switch and the 2100 combo port. You would need to configure one of the 2100 LAN ports as a separate WAN though.
