      Hi all,

I'm trying to use Cloudflare for DDNS. I can only get it to work if I use the hostname '@' - i.e. I have to use the root of the zone as the domain name for DDNS.
Example, I have testing.uk as the domain I own, I want home.testing.uk for DDNS. I've created an API token with permission for DNS:Edit for zone testing.uk. When I configure pfSense I've set the domain name to testing.uk and the domain to home. This errors with 'Zone or Host ID was not found, check the hostname'. The only combination I can get to work is '@' for hostname and 'testing.uk' for domain name, which means testing.uk is my DDNS address. I've tried leaving the username blank (instead of the zone ID) but no luck. Surely I'm missing something simple?

I don't want to use the global API key.

      Thanks.

As soon as you post you work it out - turns out you need the record to exist first, before pfSense can then update it. Shouldn't need to be that way but it's working now.
