my pfsense is sitting at 192.168.3.1 I create local dns remapping so I do not have to type the IP address so something like pfsense.local maps to 192.168.3.1

pfsense will not allow me to do this. The page comes up red indicating a dns remap attack. Is there a way to create a rule to allow this one specific redirect?

Can you not use the real host name?

Otherwise you can add Alternate Hostnames it will accept in System > Advanced > Admin Access. Or you can disable the DNS rebinding check there.

          That worked thank you

I have a bunch of dns rewrites to blah.local so pfsense.local is just easy to remember
