High interrupts for Pfsense 2.7.2
-
Is it possible that its a polling problem and can turn that off?
-
Very unlikely, NICs should never be in polling mode. Device polling was removed back in 2.4. But also device polling reduces interrupts by polling them instead of waiting for them send interrrupts.
What are you actually seeing?

How much traffic is it passing at that point?
This is a VM in HyperV?
What hypervisor version? -
Ah, wait, xn so Xen?
-
@stephenw10 Yes XCP-ng 8.2.1 but when it was v2.7.0 there were no problems
-
Hmm, yeah almost certainly that specific issue with Xen arch referenced in the other thread you posted in.
-
@stephenw10 Will there be a fix for this or will be ignored?
-
Not from pfSense directly, that's an upstream bug in FreeBSD. It looks like the fix has been commited and it's nbow in the pfSense tree:
https://github.com/pfsense/FreeBSD-src/commit/4ece79968e70b96d3283f202635d49a4bf04a7e7
So it will be included in future releases. For reference it was just too late for the 24.03 branch though so isn't included there. -
@stephenw10 Where can I download 2.7.0?
-
At the downloads page: https://atxfiles.netgate.com/mirror/downloads/
