I am unable to install pfSense CE 2.7.2 because I keep getting an error stating "checksum for base.txz does not match". I am installing from an ISO I burnt to a DVD. I thought it may have been the DVD, so I burnt another one and received the same error message. I tried using different USB ports on the system with my USB DVD drive, but still the error remains.

This error occurs after I choose Finish in the ZFS partitioning section.

I see a similar issue here, https://forum.netgate.com/topic/173499/2-6-0-install-checksum-for-base-txz-does-not-match-error, but that is not the issue I am having.

Any ideas or suggestions on how to get this working?

Can you not use a USB flash drive with the memstick image instead of an actual DVD?

@stephenw10 had to order & wait on arrival of an USB flash drive to try this. It just arrived & I tried the memstick image instead of a physical DVD, which did work. I also noticed the memstick version is larger in size when compared to the DVD ISO. Maybe the DVD ISO is corrupted for everyone...

I've used that ISO image numerous times to install to various VMs. I don't think I've tried actually writing it to a DVD but I see no reaspn that wouldn't work.

I've been installing pfSense via physical DVDs since version 2.5.0, so for 3 years now. This is the first time in 3 years that I've had an issue like this. Makes me wonder if anyone else is able to install 2.7.2 from physical DVD.

@stephenw10 does that mean the pfSense CE 2.7.3 will be released soon?

No, not unless there's some secret team of developers I'm unaware of. 😉

The next CE version would be 2.8.

Is this Issue I was experiencing in the OP the same as this issue?

No I don't think so. You were getting past the boot loader which is where that issue was.
