Just Saying - 24.03 - Perfect Upgrade
-
Given that 24.03 seemed to be a focused and conservative update (thank you), I took the chance and updated on day 1, and it went...flawlessly. I cannot think of another day 1 update that went perfectly. Thank you for a great job.

Me too, I was really supprised, but that sayed I must boot twice after
upgrading, once to .....4125 and the to ....1722, but nothing went
wrong or was showing any error message. -
My experience was almost flawless. I ended up with two errors. The upload of my encrypted configuration file to netgate failed and the version could not be determined. I fixed the problem with the version by hitting the version check on the dashboard page and it announced I was on the latest version.
The other thing I have noticed, is the update did not create an "automatic" boot environment prior to the update. Not a big deal since I manually create a Boot Environment before an update.
The other interesting thing is on the Boot Environment page there is a "new" button on the right - "Configuration history." Am I wrong that this is new, or am I really not aware?

That is new. You can now see the config history from any BE not just the one currently running.

Upgraded a 2100 and 6100 here and both upgraded and came up within 5 minutes.
The 2100 did show a little unexpected behaviour as NUT did not install/reinstall after the upgrade and I had to install it manually. But the retained config was there and worked.

@stephenw10
Good, I am not as unobservant as my wife says, and this is brilliant - to connect this information across the dashboard.Stephen, is there a way to - after the fact - upload the encrypted configuration file to netgate?
Thank you also for your attentiveness in the support page - comforting to know people are paying attention.

No there isn't. Interetsing idea though, you could open a feature request: https://redmine.pfsense.org/
