I did my usual request to TAC for an installation image of the new 24.03 Plus release and hadn't realised the process had changed and now directs you to the Netgate Store and this message:

      Support Ticket Request Form
BEFORE CONTACTING OUR TAC TEAM FOR THE INSTALLATION IMAGES

Our pfSense Plus installation media is now distributed through our store only.

      • Make sure you are currently logged into your Shopify account. If not, click here. If you do not have an account, you can create one here.
      • Add the installer image to your cart here.
      • Checkout.
      • You will receive two emails, one confirming your purchase and the second email with a download link to the image you previously selected.
      • Not compatible with PPPoE connections
      • Not compatible with the Netgate 3100

Just curious, why is the new process not compatible with PPPoE connections?

I got the correct image from TAC as soon as I pointed out I was on PPPoE.

@bigsy I think it tries to contact Netgate during the install process and the code isn't in there to bring up the PPPOE WAN interface.

I found out last night and had to request a 24.03 legacy installer image.

Yup, PPPoE support is not in there yet but it's coming.

One of the big advantages of the Net Installer is that it can always present the latest version so you usually don't need to get a new image.
