      Hello fellow Netgate community members,

I just researched and found that we can set a password for cachemgr for use with cachemgr.cgi so that the GUI is secure. However your package status page must also be adapted so that it still displays information.

      Example,

      Screenshot 2024-04-22 at 13.19.33 copy.jpg

I have password set the manger info page to make it more secure.

However your status page must also be set to use this within your

      /usr/local/www/status_squid.php

All you have to do is add a @Password _here after mgr:info to allow access to your status page still.

Yes it is that simple to secure your cachemgr.cgi and still have access to GUI package tools.

This is part 2 of making cachemgr.cgi accessible this makes it also secure from the web browser system.
