Just figured I'd share my experience.

2.6.0 to 2.7.0 was like normal.
I used GUI update and it took a bit longer than I figured, it came up just fine (I'll make a small note of the log saying a crash occurred regarding PHP, but I've seen that before and it doesn't affect my experience).

I tried to go directly to 2.7.2 and got an error. Figured 2.7.1 might be a stepping point.
Had to re-try 2.7.1 a few times, but all worked after some repetition.

Now on 2.7.1 tried to go to 2.7.2 via GUI, Shell (13 & upgrade) no dice.
Tried everything in this thread: https://forum.netgate.com/topic/184670/issue-with-going-from-2-7-0-to-2-7-2

      Still nothing working.
I'm ready to do a clean install, but I'm weary of the new installer given this post:
      https://forum.netgate.com/topic/188010/issues-installing-pfsense-on-protectli-vault

Packages all not working with older PHP so I need to update soon-ish.

      Using a Protectli J4125

I'll make one small quibble. Going to 2.7.0/1 made all my packages show up 3 times. Kinda weird. Hoping 2.7.2 fixes it?

@lightingman117 there’s a problem tonight…a few threads on Reddit and at least one other here. Just bad luck/timing. :-/

        Edit: https://forum.netgate.com/topic/188105/ce-edition-download

Pre-2.7.2/23.09: Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to restart, or more depending on packages and device speed.

Just learned there's a large CME event tonight...all the servers running without ECC has a hiccup lol.

Friends saw the Aurora all the way down in FL, USA.
