But, yes, the Net Installer can install multiple different versions of pfSense including both CE and Plus.

Just a few questions: What if the pfsense IS the access to internet? And the access is made via PPPOE?
I guess there is still some work to do ...

      Just my 2 cents,

I didn't get it yet, sorry for this.
Is there no official way to download CE images without registration from now on?

PPPoE support is coming in the next build of the installer.

this is good to know, thanks.

I hope the installer do not try to connect in a endless loop in case I have any typo in my credentials...

Mmm, what would be much nicer here is if you can put a config on the installer image and the installer uses the WAN config from that to connect out. Then restores the config once installed.
That's one of the options we are looking at.

That sounds much better to me.

Yup. Also, using the interface assignment configured in the installer as the default in the resulting install would be nice. Assuming no config is restored.

@stephenw10 I did have that issue. I setup my interface IP range in the net installer and it just ignored it. Next version maybe.

I didn't try this net installer yet, does it have an option to select to which drive I want pfsense to be installed ? As a SG-4100 owner, I think I prefer the option to download the image instead.

dead on arrival, nowhere to be found.

@mcury Yes, that part seemed to work much like the standard installer.
