Pfsense Plus vs Netgate appliance

OK,, I feel silly asking.. but here it goes...............

If I buy a Netgate Appliance, it has the PfSense + preinstalled

If I buy a Protectli / Beelink / etc and install Pfsense+, I'll need to pay for activation and continue to re-subscribe annually for a nominal cost.

Do I need to re-subscribe annually on the Netgate appliance as well or do I have a perpetual license on a Netgate appliance?

No. Netgate hardware has pfSense Plus for the lifetime of the appliance. No additional subscription required.
