domotz(paid and price has gone up)

Again - man back a few years, that was such a great product!! So am I reading that right, 35 a month now?

Arpwatch is only other solution off the top of my head.

Why is Arpwatch not a part of a pfsense package??

          @Cool_Corona

          ?? Explain de question.

For me, arpwatch is listed under System > Package Manager > Available Packages as it is a pfSense package.

Any other custom tools folks are using? I am using unifi for the switches and AP and have also tried PiAlert but it does not seem to be the best, don’t like the polling affect, looking for something that’s sent based on a new client.

@CloudNode Out of curiosity, why are you looking for something other than arpwatch? It would seem to do exactly what you're after. Works fine for me.

@darcey I sometimes get false positive “spam” on flip flops, I then add them into the ignore list and the telegram format is not the best (this does not matter too much) just looking for something new, I have gone into the rabbit hole zabbix to look at the logs for dhcp events but what was tough as then it needs to store the known devices and not alert me on those. There are a few tools that work with UniFi but again those are all polling events. I tried domntz trial and that actually was quick and easy but now it’s $35/month.

it use to be like $3 a month or some for the home license... Here order from back in the day

                  Thu, 22 Dec 2016 17:04
                  Name
                  Domotz Credits (x 12) 35.88 USD
                  Total 35.88 USD

That was for 12 months, ie a year..

I stopped using it sometime after it went to 60 for a year

                  Order Date: January 24, 2018
                  Product SKU: CR-12
                  Product Name: 12 Domotz Credit
                  Qty Ordered: 1
                  Amount: $60.00

                  Subtotal: $60.00

I think it went up again after that 2018 purchase and said - no this is not worth it for what I was using it for.. Pretty much would let me know when either of my sons came over because would get alert that their phone was now on the network, etc..

But it was pretty slick software - business use that pricing is still pretty good, but for just a home network.. No thanks!

@johnpoz I agree not for home user. $35 for the year I would have done that. Set it and forget it with a nice looking app. I have been searching all over for alternatives home lab setup but still on the search.

@CloudNode I think there is a fling device - but that was limited to 1 network if I recall, I think that was a one time purchase of the device.

@johnpoz so if I have multiple vlans, that would be one device per vlan? I will check them out now as well. Is it Fing or Fling?

@johnpoz ah ok.. seems like you can install the agent on a pi device. Goes for $25/year new device detection but can only scan once every 30 mins. Their top tier can do continuous realtime. I surprised there is no open source alternative. But for $25 year not bad if it can do what I want. The 30 mins scan would need to be tested as if a new device comes online and then goes offline before the next scan I would wonder if I would get notified.
