        I thought that was solved by now. You are using 23.04 ?

        If non ... stop kea, wipe "/tmp/kea4-ctrl-socket.lock" and start kea. (and upgrade ^^)

              @Gertjan said in kea crash:

              /tmp/kea4-ctrl-socket.lock

              UPDATE:
              Got a new gateway ip and this happened again.
              Deleting /tmp/kea4-ctrl-socket.lock worked but seems the issue isnt completely resolved

                If not done - get 24.03.

                    Noop.
                    That's not "Not following" - you clearly 'telling me you didn't found the reasoning behind "Take ISC DHCP". or, again, it was explained by many on this forum.

                    You are not the only one having some issues with KEA.

                    ISC, who wrote DHCP and the new KEA, explained on their home page, since 2022 ( !!) why.

                    As of today - IMHO, DHCP has no security issues. As ISC would tell this right now.
                    Again check yourself the SOURCE - the author - right here : Google => Type ISC DHCP KEA and click on the first link.
                    But DHCP is now 'deprecated' and the world is in the phase of 'abandoning' DHCP and adopting KEA. This will take a couple of years ...
                    (let(s hope that Netgate will do it faster - but as KEA has a zliion of option)

                    Anyway, that's why I said : get DHCP back, and you'll be fine.
                    Promised 😊

                      Just for info if someone has the same problems. I went back to ISC. I had more issues with leases not showing in the gui. Crash of kea but nothing in the log etc. So KEA has some years still in pfsense before i go back...
