Hi. I'm trying to upgrade my pfsense hardware. I have bought a new Protecli VP2420 to install. What a PITA this online installer is! As I worked my way through it I bought a license for pfsense plus. It gets to the end and gives me:

      a efibootmgr: efi_get_variable: Bad address
Failed to run the post installation script.

Then it doesn't boot properly. HELP!

It looks like you resolved this in the other thread.

One option here though would be to install 2.7.2 from the legacy media and then upgrade.

        Steve

@doncarajo Please see: https://forum.netgate.com/topic/188700/2-7-2-fresh-install-fails-failed-to-run-the-post-installation-script/34 for the solution that worked for me.

@doncarajo I checked out the webpage with the older versions of the pfSense loader. I'm not certain which to choose. Would it be unwise to pick an older version like 2.6.0 if it allows me to avoid these bad address errors and gets the software successfully installed?

You alsomost certainly want a 2.7.2 memstick image. If that device has a serial console use the memstick serial image otherwise use the regular memstick image for a video console.
