      Hi all,

I have a UPS connected to my NAS box, and it runs nut.
I have pfsense UPS configuration set to : "Remote NUT server".

The problem is if I have a quick blip where the power goes out for a few seconds and returns, the pfsense box shuts itself down.

I cannot see any option to delay shutdown.

My linux server will not shut down until x number of minutes has passed or until battery level gets quite low… but I can see no way to configure this in pfsense.

I'd rather my router not shut down and the UPS keep it powered until it really has to shutdown.

      Any suggestions please?

      Thanks!

Default behavior should make it not go down until "Low Battery."  Do you know how much battery you have when it loses power?  Perhaps it's already at the low state.

          Hi

          Thanks for the reply.

This is the behaviour on the server, but not on the client (pfsense is the client)

I tested it a few minutes ago, and it instantly shut down , battery was at 99%

The shutdown timing is controlled by the NUT master server. Some UPSs have an issue where they send a low battery notification almost immediately after going on battery which will trigger slaves to shutdown. To change this, you need to set ignorelb on the master server.

See 'ignorelb' in the ups.conf man page.
