    Hi All,

I am facing some weird situation with SG-3100 device. For the last 5 Years we have been using it well without any issue.

Now few days back it got restarted and then onwards it not booting up. When connected the console cable to my surprise all I can see some horizontal lines and some text like H9H9Xx etcc..

It is not going further no booting further.

What could be the reason? If any one faced similar situation with it? Can we consider this is an hardware issue?

    Thanks,
    Ram.

Do you have the actual console output?

Had you used the serial console in that setup before?

Have you tested different terminal devices? Different cables?

I am not getting actual console output.

I used the console port earlier multiple times to resolve the issues.

I tried with different system to connect using the console port, but same result.

Hmm, does it write that out line by line like it's supposed to be valid text?

That looks like a console mismatch. I'm not sure how it could have been changed on the 3100 but you should double check the baud rate etc.

Does it show only that, even after power cycling it?

            @stephenw10
            It stops after few lines.
I am not sure how to check the baud rate.
The same is repeating after rebooting and even if try to reset the device also getting the same screen.

What baud rate is the client set to? It should use 115200 8N1

                Oh my Goodness,

After changing the speed, it got the display properly.

                Thank you very much.

I have disconnected all the cables, is this error due to that or any issue with the configuration files?

                Thanks,
                Ram.

Ok so that error is actually secondary. It's failing to display a notice but the initial issue generated that notice.

It's probably a file system issue that can be fixed by running a check from single user mode:
