Scheduled S.M.A.R.T. test?

I have the S.M.A.R.T. data widget on my dashboard, which I can easily see the status whenever I login to pfsense.

For the 'Status' that is shown on the dashboard, is this the status of an automatic test that is run when the dashboard is loaded?

On the S.M.A.R.T. Diagnostic page, I see an option to run test. Is there a way to run these test on a schedule and send a notification if something is wrong?

It checks the status returned by the disk(s) every time you open the dashboard.
