Not getting WAN IP

I finally started with with Pfsense today. I have Fiber internet with a Nokia XS-010X-Q modem. When I start Pfsense after installation, it does not pull any WAN IP at all. I tried restarting my Pfsense box, my modem. Nothing helps. However, as soon as I connect the modem back to my consumer router everything works fine. I am not sure what the issue is. I do not have a static ip but I do see a public ip when I am connected using consumer router. Should I try the setup using that public ip set manually? If yes how can I put that in manually? Thanks!

How do you get your public IP and from where? From the modem (i.e. in router mode) or from the ISP (modem in bridge mode)? Via DHCP or PPPoE?
How does the consumer router get an IP?Post the system log.

You might need to spoof the MAC address of the old router. Or reboot the modem to allow a new MAC to attach.

I am getting the public IP when I connect to my old setup which is my own consumer router attached to the ISP modem. MY ISP provided me a modem plus router, but I am not using their router now and I am using my own router. When I changed to my own router I had no issues with it not recognizing the mac but yesterday when I started with a Pfsense ( on an old Dell Optiplex that I had) that I am trying to set up I keep on running in this issue.
I then went back to my old setup of my own router and it worked fine. -
@stephenw10 I did reboot it 2-3 times but it did not work.
I will look into spoofing this evening.
I will have to check on how to do that. I do have the MAC for my router that I am using but I do not know how to spoof it for Pfsense. -
