There are mini PCs that I can buy to install pfSense, one that has video output and bring my own storage. It also has multiple network ports. Is it possible to install pfSense on this system and somehow have it also serves as a NAS and a media play back computer such as Kodi? Basically instead of having multiple boxes for each function, I would like to consolidate them into a single physical box.

pfSense is based on the FreeBSD operating system, so anything else you install must be compatible with that OS. It is generally considered very bad practice to do so, however. Let the firewall be a firewall, and use another box for your applications.
