Weird .... mouse-gesture remote configuration file?
-
I have been having issues with my trackpad on several devices acting up and I noticed this weird http get request when this occurs...
https://edge-consumer-static.azureedge.net/mouse-gesture/config.json
- I use a kingston expensive trackball huge red one the size of a pool ball, it does use a google profile that you can save your config and buttons to.
- when it it disconnected the driver defaults to the trackpads.
- if I am not using it randomly it sometimes has motion like it is expecting a trackball in the driver. the X,Y coordinates are moving like it is a ball when it is not thus I am forced to plug in my track ball to get my machine to work.
- If this occurs why would a mouse-gesture config file be pushed down from azure when this is my private machine, I own the device and it is using a local profile on windows 11.
What is this. Of course now it is working and no issues it shows block google earth... that is nothing to do with mouse gestures...
Anyone else see this http get request come down to Windows machines before? If so do you have random human device interactions issues causing you to reboot your machine to resolve it?
The most random post, but it drives me nuts when you can't get your mouse to go the right direction or the arrow flips etc

@JonathanLee I would suggest you turn it off if your having issues with them
I would contact MS if you want to know why some simple config for something you do with a mouse is in the cloud.. Just a guess would be for some tracking reasons ;)

@johnpoz It’s because my Netgate firewall works too good and they don’t like it. Unbelievable, yeah I was like what is going on with that my mouse? It’s dancing all over and that config I see on the proxy coming down gestures from Microsoft Azure like I am on a domain. I’m not even on a corporate domain, it’s a private system. Weird, someone doesn’t like my firewall. Works really good, I am glad I finally caught it, while I was working on my AA in cyber security it would do the dancing mouse like clock work at 4:30 every day when I was doing class, drove me crazy, it would act like the track pad broke. reset would fix it. New laptop same thing same time. It was like crazing making, gas lighting. I wonder if it was a can you catch me thing for the cyber security classes. Again Microsoft pushes it from Azure.... that's weird. Maybe because I login to a school account for the outlook program that is part of it. Still if I look at the json file it lists a blacklist with google earth, none of it makes sense. Mouse Gestures do not need any remote configurations.
