1100 presales question
-
Hello, I currently need captive portal for my guest wifi. If I purchase the 1100, I assume I will have captive portal for the life of the 1100 appliance?
-
Yes, that's part of the base pfSense Plus install. And that is valid for the life of the device.

@stephenw10
Thank you for the information.
A few more questions:-
So I am using an AT&T new gateway and have the guest account activated. So I should have no problem hard wiring your 1100 to my network then configure the captive portal?
-
Does the captive portal allow for the guest to enter an email and it sending out an email for the guest to confirm?
-
-
Yes, you should be able to set it up behind an AT&T gateway no problem. There are several possibilities there depending how far you want to go.
No the captive portal does not, by default, offer email validation. To do that would require some custom code.
-
@stephenw10 are you able to capture guests email addresses?
-
The default code does not. You could write a custom form that included an email address as a mandatory field but it would not be confirmed. You would also have to parse the logs to recover those addresses or include some code to export them.
