Tried to update my Netgate 2100 from 23.09.01

The end of the update details:

      [225/234] Upgrading pfSense-repoc from 20230912 to 20240322...
      [225/234] Extracting pfSense-repoc-20240322: .. done
      [226/234] Upgrading pfSense-base from 23.09.1 to 24.03...
      Failed

The error in the notification list:

      Upgrade
      pkg (139): unknown error @ 2024-11-04 18:07:23

      Any suggestions or help?

      Thanks in advance.

      Best,
      Steven

Hmm, anything in the system log?

Check for available drive space. If you are running ZFS check for old BE snapshots using space.

@stephenw10 Thanks I will pull the system log.

I have at least 948mb in all the zfs volumes. I checked that based on another post.

<1G free on the drive may not be enough. I would remove any old BE snaps you have.

@stephenw10 You are right. I tried to do the upgrade via ssh on the command line based on suggestions from another thread. I got this error:

tee: /cf/conf/upgrade_log.txt: No space left on device
              [226/234] Extracting pfSense-base-24.03... done
tee: /cf/conf/upgrade_log.txt: No space left on device

Unlocking package pkg...tee: /cf/conf/upgrade_log.txt: No space left on device

The error reports from upgrades are much improved in 24.03. It shows drive space errors explicitly.
