      Hey all,

      I hope the title of the post is clear. I have a new ISP that doesn't provide a WAN IPv6 address, only a prefix. My network works and my clients al get an IPv6 address, so no problem there.

      With my previous provider I exposed my VPN server via the IPv4 and IPv6 WAN address. How do I do this now I don't have a IPv6 WAN address? Something with VIP's maybe? IPv4 works perfectly fine, but I want to know how to do this with V6 for learning perposes.

      Thanks in advance!

        Use the address for your LAN interface.

        PfSense running on Qotom mini PC
        i5 CPU, 4 GB memory, 32 GB SSD & 4 Intel Gb Ethernet ports.
        UniFi AC-Lite access point

        I haven't lost my mind. It's around here...somewhere...

          @JKnott Thanks for your reply!

          Is it that easy? Isn't it safer to use an alias?

            Yes it is that easy. All addresses on or connected to your pfSense box are routed through it. As for the alias, what address would you use? You don't want to put your own internal address on the WAN side.

              @JKnott That's true... I don't know what else to use. Never had this issue before. But if the IP from my LAN works, then I use that!
