WAN >> Virgin Media Router mode

Hi Guys.
I am running my Virgin Media superhub in modem mode. My pfsense is running on VMware and the pfsense WAN interface is picking up the external IP address from VM fine with no issues. I am experiencing some issues running in modem mode and would like to flick back to router mode.
So in this setup the VM Router will pick up the external IP address. I was then planning to disable the firewall on the VM router. The ethernet cable that is plugged in to the VM router will be plugged in to the WAN interface of pfsense. Now the pfsense will pick up an RFC1918 address from the VM router.
I was planning to forward all ports from the VM Router to the pfsense box. Now that all works great.
However i have an RFC1918 address on the LAN , WAN ,and OPT1 interfaces. Whats the best way of stopping an RFC1918 address from leaving the WAN interface to the LAN & OPT1?
In modem mode when i do a grc.com port scan i see all my ports as stealth however in router mode this shows all ports as closed.

If I understand it right closed means the device being probed has returned a reject message and a stealth means the device being probed doesn't return anything.
Surely you want stealth rather than closed.
If you go back to router mode, you'll have a double nat going on.

Yes you are correct. I would want stealth mode. In modem mode i get stealth but in router mode i get closed.
I am just concerned that in router mode the LAN , WAN , OPT1 are all in RFC1918 addresses and it seems that it might be routing between them
