ISC DHCP does not save Local time setting
-
Running the most current version of the paid version of PFSENSE - 24.11-RELEASE (amd64)
DHCP Server - LAN
"Change DHCP display lease time from UTC to local time"
When this is checked and I click SAVE, it does not SAVE this setting, and of course the DHCP does not show the local time under "Status -> DHCP leases".
Is there a fix for this?

After the click on Save, easy, wait for the current lease to expire. It will get renewed and this time, as their is a new lease to chow, the time should be different.
DHCP lease are not server initiated, it's the client DHCP device, so not pfSense, that determines when a lease gets updated/renewed.
If you have a Microsoft device on your LAN, go open cmd and launch
ipconfig /renew
or rip out the LAN cable, count to two, and put it back in.
Both operations will renew the lease.
Btw : where do you set this "Change DHCP display lease time from UTC to local time" ?
I've looked everywhere under Services > DHCP Server > Settings and couldn't find it. -
@Gertjan Not sure we are talking about the same thing.
The setting is under DHCP SERVER->LAN. Time Format Change.
That setting is supposed to show on the Status-DHCP Leases page the lease time by my current time zone, not UTC.
When I check the checkbox, and hit save, that setting does not save, and of course on the status page it shows leases only by UTC.
THX

I think I get it.
You use ISC and not kea, right ?

You've checked with pfsense redmine if this rather obvious GUI error already exists = declared ?
-
@Dyk-Evans Just switched back from KEA to ISC DHCP to test on 24.11-RELEASE. I does work for me, the setting is saved and after applying the leases do show the local time instead of UTC.
Are other settings saved? Like (just for testing) "disable ping check"?
And have you tried a different browser or private window or clearing the browser cache?
-
@patient0 I've used multiple browsers and different PC's, and none will save the status of that checkbox.
