A really strange request to tax the genius minds - or maybe not!

Scenario

PPPoE connection works perfectly on V4 and V6 all set to dhcp. V6 uses 'Use IPv4 connectivity as parent interface' so the ipv6 traffic and requests go over pppoe - all logical and working. Gateway monitoring working perfectly also.

Now, my ISP also allows me to use static IPv6, don't ask why I would want to when everything is working, just bear with me.

I can set up a static v6 IP and that works - albeit with the help of a "route change *" command , however I cannot get the gateway monitoring to work as that needs to specify ppoe.

Anyone any idea how to get the gateway monitor to work?
