Apologies if this isn't correct place to post about crashes.

I experienced a first solid crash on the NetGate 1100 (it was running v 23.09) I bought over a year ago now. That being said, I thought it might be wise to look into it a little possible causes.

I couldn't login due to the crash (the landing page said something like "50x error"). So I did a soft reset and finally logged in. After downloading the log from the diagnostics crash reporter I removed log entries from before the 26th of February to keep the file under the 2mb limit here (the original log file is 10mb in size—which I still have if necessary).

      Log file: McCueD-ng1100_PHP_errors__abridged.log.txt

Anyway, I saw that a new version was available and thought it might repair whatever the issue(s) could be. After removing some previous boots, and pre-upgrade rebooting, the firewall update to 24.11. It has only been a couple hours, but I haven't seen any other crashes, yet.

Am I out of the woods or into the frying pan?

It's almost certainly due to pulling in something from a newer pkg into 23.09. So after upgrading to 24.11 that will no longer be an issue.

The opt-in repo branches were introduced in 23.09.1 to prevent that issue going forward.

You should be out of the woods. 😉
