      Hi all,

I'm having an issue when attempting to reinstall the OS on a pfSense 1100. The device is failing to boot and after contacting support with the details, they responded that it was a file system issue, so a reinstall is required using the net-installer.

When I start up, I run the "run usbrecovery" command and attempted to install using the defaults. I first tried the latest 24.11 version but that failed so tried the previous 24.03 version, which also failed.

Attached is the log file for full review however it seems to fail after downloading the packages and doing the extraction.
      It failes at this point:
      .....
      [47/169] Extracting php83-curl-8.3.1: .......... done
      [48/169] Installing libuv-1.47.0...
      [48/169] Extracting libuv-1.47.0: .......... done
      [49/169] Installing boost-libs-1.83.0_1...
[49/169] Extracting boost-libs-1.83.0_1: .........Child process pid=3236 terminated abnormally: Killed

Can anyone offer suggests on what I can do to resolve this?

It's exhausting the RAM during the install. Which is odd since it should always be the same for a clean install.

However you could try installing 24.03 then upgrading.

        I assume you're installing ZFS?

@stephenw10 Unfortunately I get the same result when trying the 24.03 version. And yes using ZFS, accepting defaults all the way

Is it always at the same place in the install?

Have you tried using UFS? That usually requires less memory in my experience.
