      Hi
      Running pfsense Version 24.11-RELEASE.

      Can someone please help me troubleshoot why internal/local domain is not resolving to IPv6, but external domains properly resolve to IPv6:.

      Internal domain does not resolve to IPv6, only resolves to IPv4:

      nslookup officevm-1
      Server: syn-2603-8001-3400-4a00-02e0-edff-fec4-b04e.res6.spectrum.com
      Address: 2603:8001:3400:4a00:2e0:edff:fec4:b04e

      Name: officevm-1.skubsad.com
      Address: 192.168.221.100

      External domains resolve to IPv6 and IPv4 correctly:

      nslookup microsoft.com
      Server: syn-2603-8001-3400-4a00-02e0-edff-fec4-b04e.res6.spectrum.com
      Address: 2603:8001:3400:4a00:2e0:edff:fec4:b04e

      Non-authoritative answer:
      Name: microsoft.com
      Addresses: 2603:1030:b:3::152
      2603:1030:20e:3::23c
      2603:1030:c02:8::14
      2603:1020:201:10::10f
      2603:1010:3:3::5b

      13.107.253.69

      Running ISC DHCPv6 server:

      Router Advertisement set to DHCPv6 server:

      076e5d5f-e7d5-4492-8ea8-1aa2c551bc62-image.png

      DNS Resolver enabled on IPv6 interfaces:

      DHCPv6 leases are showing up, although without hostname:

      I'd appreciate any pointers or help.

      Thanks in advance.

        @smk you may need to include the nslookup parameter -type=aaaa in your query. I believe by default nslookup only returns ipv4 records on most machines.

          @Mission-Ghost : Thanks. Same nslookup without -type=AAAA on same machines returns IPv6 for external domains.

          Forcing AAAA in nslookup for internal domains, returns this:

          nslookup -type=AAAA officevm-1
          Server: syn-2603-8001-3400-4a00-02e0-edff-fec4-b04e.res6.spectrum.com
          Address: 2603:8001:3400:4a00:2e0:edff:fec4:b04e

          ***** No IPv6 address (AAAA) records available for officevm-1**
