It's possible it may have been registered several years ago when that was offered but that's only a guess.

Yup that would be my guess too. If you send me your NDI in chat I can check it to confirm though.

@stephenw10 ~ it should be one of these two but I don't remember which one I had the problem with.

        1a77770cb6c5b47e7611 or 7deb95b08469b66a2c47

BTW, are the old plus license still honored?

@stephenw10 ~ I just installed 2.8.0 CE on 1a77770cb6c5b47e7611 without a problem so I think 7deb95b08469b66a2c47 is the one that automatically installed the plus version.

another way to avoid this nonsense is to give us an iso and an img for the 2.8.0 CE edition. Please!

Yup that was registered for Plus upgrade and is still valid. The installer will present the Plus repos when run on an eligible device but, as you found, you can set it to enable the CE repos anyway.

Now that the Net Installer is the only option, might be a good idea to have it directly ask which version, CE or Plus, to install, instead of hiding it under the advanced options?
Also the "enable CE Repositories" name doesn't really say much to the basic user and tbf, most users don't read instructions anyways... :)

Well it's presented that way because the vast majority of users are either reinstalling Plus on an eligible device or installing CE on one that isn't. But I agree it could be clearer. I'll raise it.
