Problems Installing 2.8

I have tried update from 2.7.2 to 2.8 does not boot shows old boot loader and than reboots server . Tried fresh install with wiped disk same problem .What is the problem server is a hpe Dl360 Gen 9 with 28 cores and 128gb ram and ssd drive .

@nighthawk1967 please provide any screenshots or fotos of the boot and upgrade logs. Most people don't own a crystal ball and will need more information.

@nighthawk1967 can you try switching your BIOS from UEFI to legacy mode?

@patient0 I tried my hp DL360 gen 8 and pfsense 2.8 works fine what’s the problem with hp DL360 gen 9 and pfsense 2.7.2 works fine

@nighthawk1967 Using the hp DL360 Gen 8 works fine with 2.8 .So no idea what the problem is but if the gen 9 server will not run 2.8 in the garbage it goes ! 12 years of using this software never had a problem .Plus with all the hoops needed to down load an installer is a joke because you did not like people selling hardware with you free software installed .just make the iso able to be downloaded and give up on this store bs to download a installer .Lucky nothing works as good as pfsense because i would switch in heart beat ..

Did you try installing FreeBSD 15 to check for some upstream issue?
