As a non native English speaker and posting in English here a lot, I thought, why not asking here.
This is from the WireGuard website:
Because NAT and stateful firewalls keep track of "connections", if a peer behind NAT or a firewall wishes to receive incoming packets, he must keep the NAT/firewall mapping valid, by periodically sending keepalive packets.
I thought a "peer" is "neuter" as any thing is, at least in general. Sure, a peer could be a human and with that, could be a man or woman (or else) but in the context of this website, it should or maybe must be it instead of he.

@Bob-Dig Correct, nouns are gender neutral. I could only suspect it could be a reference to a case study or it was an oversight once translated into English. Don't often see that mind you...

Mmm indeed, I would expect that to be they or it depending on whether 'peer' refers to the user or the device. More likely it's a device in that reference.
