I have installed CE 2.7.2 on a new MOGINSOK firewall appliance my WAN negotiates correctly at 2.5gbe but once I upgrade to 2.8 or 2.8.1 it will not negotiate past 1gbe. I know this appliance has i225-v NICs not sure if there is something wrong with those

Does it fail to link if you force it to 2.5G?

@stephenw10 Yes it does. If I force it, it will just not get an IP

But does it actually fail to link at all?

Does it link at 2.5G in 2.8.1 to anything?

@stephenw10 Yes there is no link at all for WAN. It does link at 2.5gbe to my switch just fine. I was thinking it was a bad cable but it is linking at 2.5gbe on 2.7.2 just fine. It is really weird

What is it actually connected to? I assume you tried swapping the cable?

Are you able to try putting the switch in between the igc NIC and the ONT just to make sure it links and passes there.

You might check the output of sysctl dev.igc.0. Though I'm not aware of any changes in igc that might have resulted in this.
