I was wanting to update my subnet mask on a VLAN from /24 to /23 to give me more options for addresses.

      IP Config.jpg

So now, my subnet range is 10.10.50.1 through 10.10.51.254.

The problem is, I'm having problems communicating between anything on the 50 and 51 subnets. For instance, my desktop which has a static IP of 10.10.50.50 can communicate with a TrueNAS server that has a static IP of 10.10.50.200 but my laptop which was given a DHCP address of 10.10.51.100 can not access the same server.

This is happening with more than just one server which leads me to believe there's a setting I need to update. I can ping everything within the VLAN though.

      Any ideas?

@ARAMP1 gateway on devices.. managed switch settings.. device firewall settings.. just a few to get you started. Restart your DHCP server..

So just to be clear, from 10.10.51.100 you can ping 10.10.50.200 but cannot connect to 10.10.50.200? Does the firewall on 10.10.50.200 allow connections from the entire new subnet?

Traffic within a subnet does not go through the router/gateway.

Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to reboot, or more depending on packages, and device or disk speed.

You need to set the subnet mask on everything static in the subnet. You probably still have somethings set to /24 creating route asymmetry when they try to use their gateway instead of sending directly.

Everything appears to be working correctly now. I think this was it.

I have an UnRaid server that I thought I changed the subnet mask but it didn't change. Actually have to stop the array and change it.

After doing this, I'm back in business!
