I ran the netgate 1.0-rc installer and installed 2.8.0 ce on a HPE DL360 gen9 server. The installer booted fine and i was able to configure everything and even had internet connectivity briefly during that phase. On first boot, it shows the boot spash and then when i starts to boot, the screen goes completely black and it restarts the server.

I noticed that drm-kmod was getting loaded and this server doesn't have a discrete gpu, just the cheap onboard vga out stuff. So I tried booting to rescue and tried removing drm-kmod and related modules. No luck. it still hard crashes and reboots with a black screen.

Install was with zfs + gpt (defaults) Used a zfs mirror with 2 SSDs.

The system has an intel 2.5G (226) (igc) and a ix 10G sfp+ card in it.

The system has previously worked with opnsense and had debian and MidnightBSD on it without issues.

Try booting it in Legacy BIOS mode if you can.
