      Is there any way to limit the number of notifications that get issued by pfSense when the CARP VIP status changes?

      It issues one per CARP VIP per machine. Given I have multiple VLANs with both IPv4 & IPv6, and two nodes I get 16 notification messages at once on failover.

      I don't need to be notified individually for each CARP VIP, just for one.

      I'd prefer not to disable notifications I still want to receive other messages.
