Managing SMTP Notifications
-
We use pfSense for our clients who do not need a UTM appliance. We are trying to get most of our equipment to where we can easily monitor it remotely, either via our Labtech software or at least via email. I found the option where I can setup email notifications on pfsense but am unable to find any documentation on configuring what alerts get sent, etc.
The project I am currently using it for is for an RV park. I have 2 internet connections coming in with load balancing and failover setup and want the owner to be notified when the connections get dropped or become live again. I just entered my email address for testing purposes and so far the only notification I received was when one of the connections got dropped but nothing when it went live again. I also don't know what other notifications I will get or am supposed to get?

@joelwhrs I will bump this a bit.
Not sure if you figured a way to create custom SMTP triggers, for instance: link goes down, link comes up, no internet, ACL event, etc. I'm also looking for a way to create simple event trigger. From what I understand, all notifications are "fixed", I get one when device is booting or when it finish booting, or cert about to expire. On that note, where to find list of notifications? I just upgraded to 25.07.01.
