I have a question about this.

      1. What command was used to refresh the aliases in Firewall/Aliases/URLs
      2. When does it refresh? Topic below is already too old and references are no longer working
Re: URL Table Alias Refresh Schedule
      3. Is there a way for us to automatically refresh Aliases?

The default internal is 300s but you can set that in Sys > Adv > Firewall: https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/config/advanced-firewall-nat.html#aliases-hostnames-resolve-interval

Is the alias used in a rule? What are you expecting to change? How are you testing?

If you manually run /etc/rc.update_alias_url_data does it update?

Yes it is in a rule. Yes, it does update when I execute command. So I should just run the command on cron?

@jayric what is your issue, that it’s not pulling the URL or the hostnames aren’t resolving so the incorrect (or no/missing) IPs are in the table?

If the latter https://forum.netgate.com/topic/196927/filterdns-has-stopped-resolving-hostnames-in-firewall-aliases may be of use.

Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to reboot, or more depending on packages, CPU, and/or disk speed.

@SteveITS Issue is it is not updating. /etc/rc.update_alias_url_data command from @stephenw10 solved issue. I guess I just have to add this in CRON

That should get run by minicron anyway. But the interesting thing is that it seem to run at 24hr intervals not 300s.... 🤔
