      Hello.

Here at work we have a pfSense box, installed a long time ago, that was never updated. We are on version 2.1. I don't know if the following issue could be due to the version, pfSense itself or not related.
We have a main internet link and a backup one. The main link monitors 8.8.8.8 and the backup link takes place when connection is lost.
What I noticed the last few days is that, after some downtime (small ones, according to the log) some resources are not reachable.
Example: a girl on Human Resources can access a website from a company that we work with, but she can't login on their website. Using another connection, like a mobile one, goes without problems.
Another example: we use VPN to connect on some services on HQ, with two different profiles. One of the profiles stops responding and people are forced to connect on the other, that has access to less features.

When I said "downtime" and "small ones" I mean this:
      Nov 23 14:19:07 apinger: ALARM: VOGELGW(8.8.8.8) *** down ***
      Nov 23 14:19:09 apinger: alarm canceled: VOGELGW(8.8.8.8) *** down ***
Nov 23 15:11:33 apinger: SIGHUP received, reloading configuration.

      Nov 23 15:21:01 apinger: alarm canceled: VOGELGW(8.8.8.8) *** down ***
Nov 24 07:59:58 apinger: Starting Alarm Pinger, apinger(16782)
      Nov 24 09:52:50 apinger: ALARM: VOGELGW(8.8.8.8) *** loss ***
      Nov 24 09:53:38 apinger: alarm canceled: VOGELGW(8.8.8.8) *** loss ***
      Nov 24 10:07:37 apinger: ALARM: VOGELGW(8.8.8.8) *** loss ***
      Nov 24 10:08:38 apinger: alarm canceled: VOGELGW(8.8.8.8) *** loss ***
      Nov 24 11:21:35 apinger: ALARM: VOGELGW(8.8.8.8) *** down ***
      Nov 24 11:21:35 apinger: alarm canceled: VOGELGW(8.8.8.8) *** down ***

Does anyone think it can be related?
What should I look for in the logs?
      Any input is really appreciated.
      Thanx.
