      As of 6 jan 2018, same issue exactly:

      pfsense 2.4.2-RELEASE-p1 (amd64)
      package ntopng 0.8.11

      Package installs ok and runs first time, but when pfsense reboots, ntopng fails to restart, citing these errors:

      Dec 20 22:30:36 ntopng [Redis.cpp:97] ERROR: to specify a redis server other than the default
      Dec 20 22:30:36 ntopng [Redis.cpp:96] ERROR: Please start it and try again or use -r
      Dec 20 22:30:36 ntopng [Redis.cpp:95] ERROR: ntopng requires redis server to be up and running

      A package re-install does not fix the issue. It appears redis does not start automatically.  I may be able to manually start redis if I dissect all the scripts…but since I am a new to running pfsense, is this something that I could expect to be fixed soon by the maintainers?

      Thanks for your help.
