DHCP does not connect to internet without saving dhcp settings
-
Hi
I have an absurd issue here. The firewall does not connect to internet without saving lan settings when I remove WAN cable or restart modem or recovering ISP data. I can reach and ping ISP modem through pfsense this is how I set up. I have restarted dhcp and dns on services settings but did not work. The internet connection only works when I open LAN settings and save/apply configuration with no changes. How can I fix that? Because there will be ISP loses and I'll have to restart pfsense or do the same thing. Everything was fine 'till 3 days ago and somehow it's stopped. No changes were made since last month. There are power cut sometimes in the area where the pfsense is.
I use ;
2.3.4-RELEASE-p1 (i386)

FreeBSD 10.3-RELEASE-p19Please help me. Regards.

There are two DHCPs. (1)ISP DHCP which provides your FW with a public IP and allows u to connect to the Internet, and (2) Your own internal DHCP which provides LAN IP to your internal clients, and both should be independent of each other. Lets say (1) fails, your internal clients can (should) still be able to talk to each other. If (2) fails all by itself, that's totally strange and I'd suspect something wrong how u have it set up.
When you say you cannot connect to the Internet, you should: (1) Can ping FW? and IPCONFIG /ALL on client shows normal? (Intranet issue), and (2) Does pFsense WAN interface has acquired a public IP? (ISP/WAN side issue).
