I've been configuring pfSense for the first time this weekend…I started on .97 and upgraded to .98 and .99 on the way...

After playing around with traffic shaping I started getting errors (short sample below)...
      /tmp/rules.debug:23: no scheduler specified!
/tmp/rules.debug:26: queue qWANRoot has no parent
      /tmp/rules.debug:26: errors in queue definition
      /tmp/rules.debug:27: syntax error

Some searching yielded 3 posts on the matter (URLs below) and indications that the problems have been long fixed...apparently not...

The workaround in one of the posts suggesting to download my config and manually specify the scheduler did seem to fix the issue.

I'm afraid I do not have an exact path, but I was not doing anything outside of the GUI.  I did use the "Remove Wizard" on a couple occasions to remove the shaping and start over and suspect (without proof) that is when the problems started...

If I can provide any more info to help you troubleshoot, let me know...in the meantime, the workaround works...

        Reinstall from 0.99.

This is being manually set in our shaper wizard so this should not be happening.
